I grew up with my twin brother Alec during the Middle Ages when it was under the control of the Holy Catholic Inquisition. My family was accused of being witches and both my mother and father we burned at the stake. My brother and I were just barely fifteen and were also to be burned at the stake, the filthy humans would have succeeded as well if it wasn't for Aro who pulled us from the flames nipping at our skin, killing the humans and changing us before we died.

Jane gazed at the newborns that had surrounded her and Alec. The silly things actually thought they could win against the twins, unlikely. One of the vampires lunged at them but Jane simply muttered, "Pain."

The newborn collapsed to the ground, rolling around in agony, clutching at his head. The other newborns looked upon their brother with faces full of horror and confusion. A couple of the the newborns took a step back, fearing that Jane would turn on them as well.

Alec looked towards his sister and nodded his head before he then cut off the newborns' senses, all but their hearing. The looks of terror now deeply carved into their faces as they stood, unable to protect themselves.

Jane looked at the pathetic lot and stated harshly, her voice full of authority ringing through the air, "The first law states that should the risk of exposure for vampires to the humans arise, it will result in immediate termination of all parties. By order of the Volturi, you are to be put to death."
